Summary
Facilities Services primary goals are to provide safe, efficient, sustainable buildings where Pioneer’s diverse mission driven programs can thrive. The position of Plumber supports these goals with advanced skills in repairs and remodeling of Pioneer’s facilities and its external customers. Performs complex maintenance work orders and assigned capital improvement projects as well as external projects as assigned. This position is responsible for applying building codes as required for the installation, repairing and maintaining of pipes, fixtures and other plumbing used for gas, air, water and sanitary wastes in residential, commercial and industrial buildings.
Responsibilities
**Install, Repair and Maintain Plumbing Systems and Components (45%)** * Review building plans and specifications to determine the layout for plumbing and related materials. * Identify required tools and special equipment. * Select the type and size of pipe required. * Locate and mark positions for connections and fixtures. * Install supports and hangers for pipe, fixtures and equipment. * Assemble and install valves and fittings. * Install, repair and maintain water treatment equipment, piping and controls; underground storm sanitary and water piping systems; sinks, tubs and toilets; water heaters and conditioners; plumbing fixtures, appliances and trim * Test pipe systems and fixtures for leaks. **Meet all Plumbing Related Building Codes and Installation Requirements (40%)** * Identify and provide support in performing scheduled maintenance service on plumbing systems and fixtures. * Apply all codes to installations, repairs and maintenance. * Ensure all requirements as specified by the manufacturer of systems and fixtures are met. * Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported and graded. **Job Site Safety (5%)** * Attend safety meetings and trainings, follow all safety requirements, procedures and regulations. Keep current on all required safety trainings and certifications. * Maintain a clean, safe work site at all times. * Ensure tools used are maintained and in safe working order. **Communication (5%)** * Communicate orally and in writing to supervisor and customers about conditions, status of jobs or to schedule repairs. * Must be willing and able to identify when to call supervisor and ask questions in order to ensure correct course of action. * Communicate with the project manager as to progress and problems that may arise. * Ensure all notations are entered into the work order system daily.
Ideal Candidate
* Must have or be able to get Washington Plumbing License within nine (9) months of hire date. * High school diploma or equivalent. * Minimum five years plumbing experience. * Must be detail oriented with strong professional skills. * Basic computer skills. * Must be able to lift 65 pounds with assistance. * Must be able to bend, squat, kneel, climb stairs, push, pull, and reach out and above shoulders. * Must be able to operate power tools. * Must have valid WA State Driver’s License/clean record/valid insurance. **Tools & Equipment:** * Possess and carry your own tools to perform required work. * Must be able to operate power tools. * Responsible and accountable for security of company equipment. **Preferred/Desirable Qualifications** * CPR/First aid certification. * OSHA Training. * Work Experience in Affordable Housing and/or aging building systems.

Work sites will include occupied housing units, office spaces, retail spaces and new or remodel construction sites. Some sites may have dust, pest issues, or hazardous materials that requires use of personal protective gear.
