Summary
Description Seeking a dynamic, creative and organized Communications Manager with consumer experience to play an integral role within the communications team for Philips Lighting North America. This person is responsible for supporting the execution of effective, coordinated communications campaigns that raise awareness of Philips consumer offering, namely its Hue product. Communications activities will focus on raising awareness of the Philips brand along with new products, partnerships and other consumer-tie ins through media outreach and other communication channels. This person will report to the Head of Integrated Communication for Philips Lighting North America.
Responsibilities
* Work closely with business group and marketing teams to develop and manage a long-term external communications campaigns and opportunities. * Coordinate media announcements and wider consumer communications campaigns for its products, partnerships, and other consumer tie-ins Identify unique opportunities to position Philips products within the media. * Maintain close relationships with internal business and marketing teams to identify potential story ideas, big wins and other profile raising opportunities. * Support wider, integrated consumer campaigns for the Global Philips Lighting agenda * Help develop strategic plans, press releases, talking points, Q&As, briefing memos, and distributed media materials; managing messages; and coordinating presentations, media events, traditional and non-traditional media relations activities * Build relationships with key reporters and bloggers; oversee a news bureau to handle incoming media requests * Support presence at key trade shows and events Work collaboratively within External * Communications team and MarComms team to embrace culture and work across multiple teams to achieve demonstrable successes for the business * Help to drive awareness and understanding internally at the company on how we can best support the organization and deliver results with measurable impact
Ideal Candidate
Qualifications: * Has approximately 5 years’ or more years of consumer experience (public relations / PR from agency and/or client side) * Possesses superior writing and editing skills across a broad range of content/channels * Is a collaborative team player who is highly organized and can coordinate activities across a variety of channels including traditional, digital and social media * Can develop comprehensive briefing books and coordinate support activities e.g. op-eds. Media interviews, bilateral meetings * Is an innovative and creative thinker who is a constant source of ideas to help achieve communications objectives * Ability to support Director of Integrated Communications with projects, issues, process, and other PR/communications initiatives
