Responsibilities
* Defines long term strategic direction for wireless sensors networkswithin Lighting * Defines and builds competencies across the Philips Lighting organization * Clearly communicate with internal and external stake holders to connect business needs to technology solutions, create technology roadmaps, and help commercialize these ideas * Reports progress on regular basis to the Philips Lighting Cross-BG System Innovation Board (Highest level of decision body in Innovation and Lighting) * Contributes practically in key projects, steering them in line with the strategic direction working with highly energized technologists of diverse backgrounds, to tinker with new ideas in an agile, collaborative fashion.
Ideal Candidate
**Job Knowledge, Skills & Experience** - Education: MSc or PhD Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related engineering or technical field. - Recognized top expert inSensors, Controls and Networks, including industrial and consumer applications. - Proven track record in sensor solution end-to-end design and placement (including wearables, smartphones, etc) - Understanding of sensor devices (microelectronics, MEMS) - Understanding of sensor read-out electronics and data conversion (circuits and electronics, digital signal processing) - Experience in wireless networking: demonstrated understanding of sensor networks, both wired and wireless. Knowledge of communication standards like BLE, ZigBee, ZWave, UWB. - Application knowledge of sensor-based use cases a plus. - Industry shaping experience, at least 10 year working experience of which more than 5 year insensor networksin one of the leading companies or institutes active in the semi-conductor environment - Strong business focus, and inner self-drive to bring connected offerings to real-world customers. - Solid track record of impactful results - Experience in shaping technology strategy and guiding technical teams - Ability to travel up to 25% (US and Europe) **Personal Skills:** - Well-developed leadership skills - Practical “Can-do” mentality. “Feet on the ground” experience. - Ability to drive, shape and influence various functions: R&D;, (product) marketing and strategy - Ability to work with multidisciplinary and passionate technologists to do whatever it takes to get the job done. - Experience in multinational fast-moving environmentcreating order from ambiguity. **Other desired skills:** - Knowledge software/middleware (control, embedded computing, etc.) - Knowledge in data collection modes for both fixed and mobile
