Independently analyzes products manufactured and distributed by Pharmavite; reviews and evaluates the validity of test results and procedures; training of Chem I and Chem Tech on methodology and laboratory techniques.

* Performs complex assay on raw materials, in process materials and finished products to verify identity, strength and purity. * Documents all data collected during QC Supervisor on daily activities such as expediting product release. * Troubleshoots laboratory equipments. Performs repairs or obtains appropriate outside services. * Updates existing methods or control records to meet current compendia requirements or technology. * Offers guidance and training to less experienced chemists as required. * Performs other related duties as assigned.

**Education:** * Requires a four year college or university degree or its equivalent in Chemistry, Biology or related science. Advanced degree a plus. **Certification:** * None. **Experience:** * Requires two to five years related laboratory experience in a laboratory environment. **Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:** * A competent knowledge of chemistry practice and theory including methods validation and use of laboratory equipment such as HPLC, GC, ICP, UV, FTIR and computer control dissolution tester. * Computer skills such as Word and Excel are required. **Physical Requirements:** * Continuous exercise of manipulative skills. Close attention to detail. **Environment:** * Exposure to disagree able elements is limited. **Safety:** * The incumbent must be able to perform this job safely in accordance with standard operating procedures and good manufacturing practices, without endangering the health or safety of self or others.
