Summary

Provide technical leadership for the evaluation and implementation of large-scale controls improvements to enhance the efficiency, quality, compliance, customer service, and safety of Austin operations. Evaluate existing process controls, suggest and evaluate improvement alternatives, secure funding, plan and execute implementation, coordinate validation, and specify ongoing maintenance requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for process and control improvement.
  • Provide project scope, design, cost estimation, construction management, start-up, and validation detail for equipment and systems. Complete all site/regulatory documentation required with all phases of work.
  • Secure project funding through capital and expense plans and updates. Prepare required capital funding and RCE documentation.
  • Implement controls improvements on schedule and budget.
  • Provide engineering controls and programming (PLC, HMI, etc.) service for issues arising in existing processes.
  • Coordinate and provide technical support to Corporate engineering as needed. This might include providing validation requirements, review validation documentation, and other requests as needed.
  • Maintain a state of cGMP Compliance in all project activities.
  • Complete assigned Corrective Actions / Preventive Actions (CAPAs) as required.
  • Give presentations to management on project status.
  • May prepare required capital funding and RCE documentation.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required.
Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor’s Degree is required: Any engineering field
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Process or Project Engineer developing machine controls and control logic, preferably in food, drug, or cosmetic industries.
