Summary
The essential purpose of this position is to administer necessary medical care of associates and others as required or assigned. Maintain required Federal and State records for OSHA and Worker’s Compensation under direction of the Nurse supervisor. Assist with Medical cost management, daily benefits administration, perform physicals and other medical related duties as needed.
Responsibilities
* Administer medical care by giving first aid treatment, sending those needing more than first aid to doctor or health care facility, documenting information, completing necessary forms, and informing nursing supervisor or plant safety personnel when further treatment is required. * Administer medical care for work related illnesses, following appropriate Algorithm, referring cases to doctor when needed. Documenting and completing any needed/required forms. * Maintain required Federal and State records for OSHA and Workers Compensation under direction of nurse supervisor. * Assist with medical costs management by early intervention in care of associates with constant follow up, ordering needed medical supplies and following up on MLOA to reduce time out. * Knowledge of MLOA system, necessary notes by doctor, documentation information and completing necessary forms. * Provide information to associates about basic company policies and procedures to associates such as attendance, benefits, exit interviews, etc. * Perform physicals, respiratory tests, drug screens, and Alco-Sensor testing. * Assist with hearing tests as needed, bloodmobile and other programs as directed by nurse supervisor. * Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Ideal Candidate
**Required Education** * Graduation from an accredited school of nursing or college program. **Required Qualifications** * Successful completion of an approved nursing program for a LPN, RN or medical assistant. * Current, active and unrestricted license for professional nursing in the state of practice. * Certification in CPR required within 6 months of employment. * Good verbal & written communication skills. **Preferred Qualifications** * One (1) year of prior and related experience is preferred.
