About Pension Reserves Investment Management Board

The Pension Reserves Investment Management Board (PRIM) serves as a complete information resource for the Massachusetts Pension Reserves Investment Trust (PRIT).

Summary

PRIM is currently seeking an Investment Analyst - Real Estate to join their Boston office team. Reporting to the Director – Real Estate and Timberland, the Investment Analyst will conduct research and assist in the management of PRIM’s commercial real estate and timberland portfolios. The analyst will be a significant contributor in the management of a large, institutional real estate and timberland portfolio and will have the opportunity to interact with a diverse group of market participants. This is a tremendous opportunity to gain experience in the investment management field working on large global pension funded initiatives with top investment management firms. Successful candidates will be proactive, self-starters with strong communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with senior level executives.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct research as needed on topics such as:
    • Asset allocation
    • Global economics
    • Real estate and timberland markets
    • Investment manager selection and due diligence
  • Assist with new investment reviews
  • Oversee transaction and cash management process
  • Oversee quarterly valuation process and analysis
  • Provide monthly and quarterly performance analysis
  • Update market, portfolio and debt reporting
  • Track the progress of manager capital and leasing plans
  • Conduct property tours and attend industry conferences as needed
Ideal Candidate
  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics or Real Estate
  • 2 years’ finance and investment experience is required, a focus on commercial real estate or other real asset classes is preferred
  • Experience with Argus, Factset, eVestment, and other economic, real estate and timberland, and investment manager data sources desirable
  • Experience and interest in fundamental and statistical research
  • Must be a team player with strong analytical skills and highly proficient with Excel
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to interact with all levels within an organization
