Pennebaker is a 30-year-old branding and marketing communications firm that helps businesses grow, change, and prosper.

A bit about you: You're a master crafts-person with an eye for detail, a big bucket of confidence, and an insatiable curiosity. You think WYSIWIG editors are beneath you. You have been around the block a few times, and know what shortcuts to take—and when not to take them. A seasoned developer, you're familiar with the process and are looking for a shop where you can make an impact.

• Develop cleanly-coded front-end prototypes for client websites
• Integrate those prototypes into content management systems (mostly LAMP; we like Craft and ExpressionEngine)
• Translate information architectures into usable content models; implement those models in a database.
• Test & troubleshoot your work and the work of your teammates
• Configure your own servers & deploy websites like a boss
• Develop client email campaigns in various email marketing platforms
• Participate in and lead peer code reviews
• Be ever mindful of better techniques & workflow improvements
• Challenge the team to deliver the highest quality products we can

Here's what we expect:

• Mastery of front-end languages, frameworks, and libraries
• In-depth knowledge of back-end and server-side languages and applications (Linux)
• You're cool supporting IE8 when necessary (it's not that often, we promise)
• No sweat when integrating third-party data feeds into our clients' websites
• Working knowledge of git or other version/source control systems
• Knowledge of internet security protocols is a plus
