Summary
This position is responsible for performing a variety of tasks which includes preparation, service, clean-up and delivery of food products in support of hospital food and catering service operations using HACCP guidelines for safe food handling. Responsible for coordinating the day-to-day functions for assigned area. Assists with ensuring that departmental goals are achieved, timelines met and service excellence provided in all aspects of work. Subject matter expert.
Responsibilities
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS** * Assigns work; plans and manages priorities, provides technical assistance, oversees staff schedules, monitors quality of work, monitors team projects, mentors staff, provides constructive feedback, oversees staff training, ensures quality improvement, provides leadership feedback on staff performance, and assists with goal setting for the team. * Prepare, mix, assemble, portion, serve and store food following applicable guidelines. * Operate dish machine, wash pots and perform heavy cleaning duties following safety and sanitation guidelines. * Transport equipment, food, supplies and trash as directed. * May act as cafeteria cashier. * Follow guidelines for assigned station set-up and clean-up. * Performs other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
**EDUCATION:** * High school diploma or equivalent. * EXPERIENCE/TRAINING: * Minimum of one year previous work experience preferred. Retail food service experience preferred. **LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:** * Valid Food Handlers Card **OTHER SKILLS:** * Strong customer service skills * Ability to speak, read and write English * Knowledge and understanding of proper food handling and sanitation * Ability to work well with others
