Summary
The Sales Operations Specialist supports the Sales organization by ensuring timely and accurate sales reporting. This role is ultimately responsible for the integrity of sales reporting data.
Responsibilities
* Sales reporting; (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually) including percentage of growth, YoY growth etc. * Research and respond to inquiries and requests for adjustments from Sales and Finance related to adjustments, invoices, freight, returns, etc. * Analyze sales figures, identify and revise inconsistent data, calculate run rate projections and establish net revenue reports. * Assist the Operations Manager and VP of Sales, by providing strategic reports for use in corporate meetings; reports require the use of V/H lookups, pivot tables, conditional formatting, index formulas, IF formulas, and data validation. * Liaise with accounting, credit, IT, and sales to increase credit lines, adjust costs, troubleshoot and prevent fraud. * Build management tools to support sales managers with forecasting, budgeting, and performance monitoring. * Process purchase orders, request amendments, and generate contractual price lists. * Generate reports and sales statements based upon transactional data. * Research and validate the target incentives and reporting hierarchy for the Sales organization to ensure proper alignment. * Identify opportunities to improve or automate work that will result in more accurate sales reporting. * Assist with commission earnings reports.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred. * 1 year experience in an internship/position related to sales, analytics or finance/accounting. * Strong attention to detail and accuracy. * Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with coworkers at all levels including senior leadership. * Experience improving processes surrounding the efficiency and accuracy of reporting and variable pay calculations. * Experience developing and applying quantitative, computer modeling techniques. * Ability to work independently with little direction. * Successful track record in meeting deadlines. * Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications. * Advanced Excel skills required.
