About Patients Like Me
A free website where people can share their experience with disease and contribute to research that advances medicine. Join us and let’s live better, together!
Responsibilities
- Conduct qualitative research with patients, clinicians, and researchers as needed to define and refine solutions. Involve others in that research to spread the goodness. - Use personas, scenarios, and storyboards to generate, assess, and communicate about solutions. - Collaborate and negotiate with user experience leads, PMs, engineers, researchers, marketers, and others to define both medium-term vision and incremental development paths for new functionality. - Work at varying levels of fidelity, from whiteboard to pixels. You don’t need to be a strong visual designer, but we do expect basic visual literacy and the ability to make use of an established visual system. - Write clear, concise and compelling interface text, and use those same skills to write design documentation for the engineers implementing your designs.
Ideal Candidate
Minimum qualifications: - BA/BS Degree - 5+ years designing software products (preferably including the Web), with demonstrated ability to master complex domains. - A portfolio demonstrating thoughtful problem solving skills. - Walk us through your design process, including the problem you were trying to solve and the research and sketches that got you to your final design solution. - An understanding of what makes a design (especially yours!) useful, usable and delightful...and the communication skills to “sell” it. - Strong interaction design skills, from workflow to widgets that feature concise instructions. - Ability to articulate process and design principles. Additional qualifications: We’re more interested in design fundamentals than in specific domain or platform knowledge, but we especially love candidates with experience designing any of the following: Responsive Web sites - Native mobile apps - Products for healthcare consumers and clinicians - Data visualization - Complex data architectures & data entry - Content management
