About Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute
PCORI was established to help address these challenges. Our job is to close the gaps in evidence needed to improve key health outcomes. To do this, we identify critical research questions, fund patient-centered comparative clinical effectiveness research, or CER, and disseminate the results in ways that the end-users of our work will find useful and valuable.
Summary
Creates design solutions for print and digital media, including typography, layout, iconography, infographics, slides and other design templates, data visualizations and other visual communications products and resources.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with program staff and content experts to develop infographics, data visualizations and other visualization communications products that clearly convery complex information to multiple audiences. * Manage maintenance and ongoing enhancements of slide templates and slide sets. * Create and implement design elements required for full suite of PCORI communications and information products, across media platforms. * Design and produce communication collateral to support PCORI activities and announcements. * Update layout and design of branded materials and create new materials as needed. * Provide additional design and visual communications guidance as required.
Ideal Candidate
Required Skills * Advanced knowledge and proven experience with Adobe Creative Suite CS6, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat Pro,Flash, Fireworks, mapping software, Tableau and/or other data visualization tools. * Ability to develop appealing, accessible, and accurate data-driven infographics for multiple audiences. * Advanced knowledge of page layouts, image formats, file compression, optimization techniques, and photo retouching. * Exceptional attention to detail, as well as proven ability to follow PCORI brand and style guidelines. * Excellent project management and communication skills. * Strong analytical ability to capture and illustrate key messages and data for specific audiences. * Organized, hard-working, able to work well under tight deadlines and multitask. * Ability to work in a fast-growing team environment, as well as independently, with efficiency, accuracy and professionalism * Creative, pragmatic, flexible, willing and able to take direction Required Experience * Bachelor of Arts or Fine Arts degree required; specialization in Graphic Design, Visual Communication or Data Visualization strongly preferred. * 4-7 years full-time work experience managing the design and production of educational, national consumer, or corporate publishing required. This position does not involve medical illustration or web design. * Expert knowledge of publication and graphic tools, standards, and best practices. * Portfolio with work samples such as: printable reports, handouts, brochures, and/or post cards, infographics, and business graphics.
