Responsibilities
* Responsible for the provision of Palomar Health Nursing services within area of responsibility, ensuring a strategy and vision for these services that support the Palomar Health Strategic Plan. * Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating all aspects of care/services delivered; * Insuring quality programs, patient safety and a level of customer service that strives to exceed internal and external customer expectations; * Develops strong relationships with primary customers. * Practices excellent employee relations and attention to employee needs. * Develops and mentors a high performing management team for all areas of responsibility. * Ensures financial viability by managing both applicable revenue and expenses with attention to supply cost utilization and a high level of productivity in cost centers under direct control. * Understands and adheres to the California Nurse Practice Act, the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics for Nurses, the ANA Bill of Rights for Registered Nurses, and the ANA Scope and Standards for Nurse Administrators. * Speak and read English at a level that is sufficient to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of the position. * Knowledge of standard office equipment (i.e., calculator, fax, photocopier) and personal computer and computer software skills (i.e., MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, Powerpoint, internet, e-mail). * Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding, use of mouse or keys for functions such as selecting items, use of drop down menus, scroll bars, opening folders, copying and similar operations required upon employment or within the 1st two weeks of employment to perform the essential functions of the job. Performs other duties as assigned. * Follows Palomar Health rules, policies, procedures, applicable laws and standards. * Carries out the mission, vision, and quality commitment of Palomar Health.
Ideal Candidate
* Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and Master's Degree in Business or Healthcare related field OR * Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Nursing * Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and Master's Degree in Nursing * Minimum Experience: 5 years related clinical experience * Preferred Experience: 3 years progressive management experience * Required Certification: American Heart Association recognized BLS - Healthcare Provider * Preferred Certification: Certification in specialty area of practice or role * Required License: Current CA RN License * Preferred License: Not Applicable
