Senior Financial Analyst

Palmer Group is recruiting a Senior Financial Analyst to join the financial planning and analysis team at the office of our Des Moines client. They are looking for someone to organize and present analysis to support statutory and GAAP results. The ideal candidate will be an experienced financial analysis professional with a passion for delivering results.

* Perform analysis of financial results and indicators * Monitor results and develop recommendations in order to achieve business objectives * Prepare communication materials, present to management, rating agencies, stakeholders, etc. * Develop financial plans, budgets, and forecasts * Complete monthly reporting to include earnings analysis, financial statements, KPI's, and business trend insights * Assist with financial modeling, valuation of acquisitions, and product line profitability monitoring * Perform analysis of complex financial business issues * Develop analysis tools to assist with review of results * Assist with capital and expense management procedures * Maintain positive investor and rating agency relationships

* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Actuarial, or similar field * CPA or MBA preferred, FSA a plus * Minimum of 4 years of financial analysis or reporting required * Big-4 audit and insurance experience preferred * Familiarity with general accounting principles * Excellent analytical, planning, and strategizing skills * Strong interpersonal and communication skills * Ability to effectively prioritize * Team player with the ability to work independently
