Senior Systems Engineer

The candidate will provide systems integration and test support to a robotic space flight mission in development at the Goddard Space Flight Center as part of the Ground Systems Team. This support includes planning and executing ground readiness tests, analysis of test results, and requirements management activities. These activities will be conducted in coordination with the development teams of the associated ground system elements. Requirements management will involve assessing the rationale, verification methods, and traces to parent requirements relating the ground system elements to the mission goals. Some travel will be required.

* Maintaining requirements and operations concept documents, and allocating requirements to verification tests. * Coordinating system-level test planning, to include the generation of procedures and requirements verification activities * Conducting system-level integration tests * Managing requirements updates and updating status as a result of testing. * Conducting risk analyses and identifying mitigations * Supporting an inter-disciplinary team environmentPosition RequirementsEight years minimum experience with space flight systems support, including at least 5 years of systems integration, test, or engineering experience analyzing system requirements, developing test plans and procedures, and analyzing test results.

* Experience with NASA policies and procedures regarding program/project management lifecycles and systems engineering. * Experience with database tools, requirements management and system architecture tools. * Experience with the NASA communications networks * Experience with space flight operations * Experience with testing methodologies and test planning activities * Understanding of space data handling standards, including CCSDS * Understanding of NPR 2810.1A
