Summary

You’re a fearless risk taker who has strong product vision and zero hesitation to challenge the positions of OwnLocal leadership. An expert on product planning, customer discovery, and product development process - you use data to make decisions, using as much objective truth as you can find. You know what validation and recency bias are and fight against them. You have a proven ability to work effectively across departments. Owning the product road map to take OwnLocal from working with 100,000 SMBs/month to 1,000,000 doesn’t scare you.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, assign, and direct workloads of the existing product team
  • Mentor, train, and coach the product team
  • Assess the performance of the product team
  • Define product mission and strategy with CEO
  • Assess product development and enhancement opportunities
  • Oversee competitive research
  • Define pricing & competitive positioning
  • Evaluate and establish program priorities in line with business objectives
  • Openly and effectively share information about customers, market, and organization with the team
  • Develop budgets; forecasts; and metrics to measure, monitor, and evaluate the results
  • Manage product, project managers, product leadership
  • Report on product progress to the rest of OwnLocal
  • Work with engineering and leadership team to determine product deadlines
  • Hiring and firing for Product team
  • Collaborate with Development on designing, implementing, testing, refining and deploying solutions
  • Track status and facilitate planning, stand-ups, testing, demos and retrospectives as needed
Ideal Candidate

You should apply if you meet these minimum requirements:

  • 6+ years managing a product team
  • Experience tracking and optimizing product output
  • Experience regularly delivering on product deadlines
  • Experience developing and maintaining product road-maps
  • 4+ years experience managing a full software development life cycle and estimating work units for engineers
  • Experience with SMB software, digital advertising, UX design and a variety of CMSs
  • Customer outreach and feedback collection
