Summary
You get your kicks designing software features that delight users and impress even the most jaded stakeholders. You enjoy wading through a morass of available information and figuring out what’s actually important. An expert on product planning, customer discovery, and product development process - you use data to make decisions, using as much objective truth as you can find. You understand things on both a strategic and operational level, and you understand and accommodate for the operational changes new product development will inevitably lead to. You’re a people person who deals with the goddamn customers so the engineers don’t have to. Most importantly, you know how to get shit DONE.
Responsibilities
* Lead a cross-functional team in developing critical internal and external facing products * Conduct market research to discover customer/user pain points and new opportunities * Impact/business case analyses for new products, features, and bug fixes * Capture and compose high quality user stories from various internal and external customers and stakeholders * Break down large, abstract concepts into actionable tickets and user stories for software engineers to pick up and deliver on * Tame your JIRA backlog * Participate in daily standups with the engineering teams and remove progress roadblocks
Ideal Candidate
**You should apply if you meet these minimum requirements:** * 2+ years of product management experience at a tech company * Top-notch leadership and people skills * Experience developing and maintaining product roadmaps * Experience with dev product/project management software (JIRA, Pivotal Tracker, etc.) * Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills * Able to adjust and evolve strategy quickly while incorporating research and data on industry trends **You should really seriously apply if you are also good at any of the following:** * Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience * Data and financial analysis * Experience with SMB software, digital marketing, SEO, UX design, user testing, and a variety of CMSs

Additional Notes on Compensation

All positions at OwnLocal are salaried, paid out monthly and include company stock options. This position pays $65,000 - $105,000, depending on experience. We do competitive salaries, 100% paid medical / dental coverage, free life insurance.
