You’re based in Austin or want to move here. You’re excited about working in an open and interactive environment. You’d rather be neck-deep in an Excel spreadsheet than talking about the latest GoT episode with your friends and neighbors. You’re ready to tackle a unique position which offers you a chance to help build our financial team from the ground up. Let’s face it; pivot tables are your BFF--you live and breath this stuff and you have a genuine desire to handle multiple accounting and financial tasks. You’ve never cooked books for the mob (because of your high moral standards), but your skills and work ethic are strong enough that you could rise to almost any level of financial wizardry.

* Work with our CFO to assist with the day to day aspects within OwnLocal’s finance department * Oversee our monthly invoicing process in coordination with our support team * Collect and collate complex financial data as an important element for long-term strategic company planning * Prepare financial spreadsheets for the executive team to facilitate decision making * Make reconciling expense reports and bank statements look like a breeze * Act as the key point of contact for financial questions and requests * Have full responsibility of OwnLocal’s accounts receivable and accounts payable processes * Update the CFO and other stakeholders on account statuses as necessary

**You should probably apply if you’re good at the following:** * Working in an office setting and have at least 2 years of experience doing accountant related functions * Being self-motivated and flexible in a fast-paced environment--there’s no life like the startup life * Managing multiple tasks and optimizing your time (O is for Organization) * Spotting financial discrepancies a mile away: an overcharge on your Comcast bill? Bring it on Kabeltown... I’m coming for you! * Excel, Excel, and Excel, especially as it concerns accounting, finance, and business * Being a stickler for accuracy and detail with all T’s crossed and all I’s dotted * Demonstrating the ability to build and/or improve existing processes **You should really seriously apply if you’re good at the following:** * Prioritizing and effectively escalating issues as needed while understanding the impact on the overall business * Accounting, CPA (not required but we would be super impressed… no, really!) * Using QuickBooks and/or other financial software (or if you’re not familiar, you learn quickly) * Being the champion of follow-through and always committing to finding a solution, no matter how complex the challenge * Being deadline driven and works well under pressure **You SHOULD NOT apply if you:** * Want a 9:00-5:00 and are afraid of working odd hours and weekends when necessary * Need someone looking over your shoulder and managing deadlines and tasks for you * Cannot stand your ground to others (including the executive team) * Get frustrated or frazzled when things don’t go as planned * Don’t like asking questions or being direct when you need help
