Web/Content Producer

OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network is the first and only network named for, and inspired by, a single iconic leader.

POSITION SUMMARY The Web Producer creates editorial and multimedia content for Oprah.com, HuffingtonPost.com/OWN and other OWN Network partner sites. This role works with the Oprah.com editorial team, as well as Oprah.com design and web development teams, to strategize, plan and create daily content primarily for the Super Soul brand (Super Soul Sunday, Super Soul Sessions, Super Soul Shorts), as well as other shows and verticals as needed.

* Work with digital and broadcast Super Soul Sunday producers to create digital content for Super Soul Sunday, as well as any extensions to the brand * Liaise with various departments, including On-Air, Legal, Publicity and Social, as well as talent, to gather required materials from show, address rights issues and help market content * Come up with engaging promo lines and create content (video or written) quickly and accurately to support * Select appropriate video clips and images, and other multimedia elements if applicable, to accompany pieces * Research facts and figures to support write-ups/articles * Help produce daily and weekly episodic for other OWN shows as needed. * Work on other editorial, multimedia and projects as needed

* Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English or Communications desired * Minimum 5 years producing content for digital * Strong writing (editorial and marketing), conceptualizing and researching skills * Strategic mindset and willingness to embrace new methodologies * Experience working with clients, freelancer/outside vendors, talent, managing expectations and project timelines * Television, magazine, publishing and/or advertising experience is a plus * Knowledge of web production tools and database driven sites specifically: Teamsite, Wordpress, Basecamp, Confluence/JIRA * Familiarity with HTML is a plus * Must be able to work in a collaborative, creative, fast-paced environment * Hours must be flexible
