Summary
The Owens&Minor College Intern program is designed to provide future leaders an exposure to business issues associated with the day-to-day operations of a specific area, unit or department.
Responsibilities
* Successful completion of the Owens&Minor College Internship program objectives. * Apply academic learning into real-world supply chain experiences. * Assists in researching business problems including performing literature review and conducting data analysis. * Assists assigned department with database management and project coordination. **Supplemental Job Function:** * Other duties as assigned **Equipment, Tools and Word Aids:** * General office equipment to include PC.
Ideal Candidate
**Strength Requirements:** * Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally,and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requires are in excess of those for sedentary work. Light work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree. However, if the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work. **Type of Physical Requirement:** **Acuity, near** * Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less. **Reaching** * Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. **Handling** * Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hands. Fingers are involved only to the extent that they are an extension of the hand. **Fingering** * Picking, pinching, or otherwise working with fingers primarily (rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling). **Talking** * Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Talking is important for those activities in which workers must impart oral information to clients or to the public, and in those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly. **Hearing** * Perceiving the nature of sounds. Hearing is important for those activities which require ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make fine discriminations in sound, such as when making fine adjustments on running engines. **Qualifications** **A. Education and Formal Training** * Beginning his or her junior or senior year of an accredited Supply Chain, Logistics, Sales or Business undergraduate program with a GPA as required of the program. **B. Work Experience:** * Prior work experience preferred * C. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Written and verbal communication skills. * Planning and organizational skills. * Demonstrate an attention to details. * Ability to be creative, flexible and prioritize. * Ability to work as part of a team. * Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
