Summary
The Instructional Designer supports new employees and existing end users by development and deployment of training material related to Epic's Cadence, ADT/Prelude, and HIM applications.
Responsibilities
Coordination with the application teams, operational management, clinician and physician end users, and vendor implementation staff is required. The Instructional Designer is responsible for all aspects of the training, including training environment build, testing and maintenance, curriculum design, course materials, job aids, house-wide training as well as rounding and providing end-user support. The Instructional Designer must demonstrate proficiency in use of the application and a variety of tasks/workflow in the information system tools. The Instructional Designer is also required to earn certification in his/her respective Epic application(s).
Ideal Candidate
**Instructional Designer Qualifications** **Education:** * Associate's degree required. Epic Credentialed Trainer in Cadence, HIM, and or ADT/Prelude are preferred. * Equivalent related experience may be considered in lieu of degree. **Special Training Skills:** * Proven skills as an instructor/presenter and group facilitator; team player and leader skilled in group facilitation required. * Must be highly organized and flexible. Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing required. * Patience, with the ability to adapt to challenging classroom situations and personalities. Must be able to multitask and adapt to changing priorities. * Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required. **Experience:** * Minimum of one year in the development, design, facilitation, and implementation of training programs for professional adults required, with two years preferred. * Previous experience as a RN or clinician preferred. * Previous experience with clinical computer applications in healthcare preferred. * Previous experience with Learning Management Systems and authoring computer-based trainings preferred. * One year experience teaching large groups desired. **Senior Instructional Designer Qualifications** **Education:** * Bachelor's degree required. * Epic Certification in Cadence and HIM, ADT/Prelude are preferred. * Equivalent related experience may be considered in lieu of degree. **Special Training/Skills:** * Proven skills as an instructor/presenter and group facilitator; team player and leader skilled in group facilitation required. * Must be highly organized and flexible. * Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing required. * Patience, with the ability to adapt to challenging classroom situations and personalities.
