Underwriting Analyst

ORIX USA and our family of companies offer investment capital and asset management services to portfolio companies in the corporate, real estate, municipal finance and energy sectors.

The employee will assist the Fannie Mae Chief Underwriter, Deputy Chief Underwriters and Underwriters with daily oversight of mortgage loan opportunities for multifamily and seniors healthcare loan applications with an emphasis on Fannie Mae DUS loan executions. Specifically, the underwriting analyst will assist in: i) the underwriting and submission of credit recommendations; ii) preparation of credit request presentations for Fannie Mae, loan committee, corporate credit committee and mortgage investors and in the approval process for all loan applications; and iii) underwriting all types of commercial real estate for conduit and life company loan applications.

* Become fully versed in and apply a thorough knowledge of Red Capital Group programs and requirements, and specifically Red Capital Group policies and procedures. * Become fully versed in all applicable Fannie Mae and Commercial Real Estate policies and procedures by reading and studying the Fannie Mae DUS Guide, relevant Fannie Mae documentation and any underwriting and processing guidelines of our Securitization and Funding Partners for Commercial Loans (Conduit and Life Co). * Develop a thorough understanding of the “flow” of the loan origination and underwriting processes for Red’s various product types * Reporting directly to respective Chief Underwriter, Deputy Chief Underwriter or Senior Underwriter on transactional issues and deal flow * Quickly and accurately prepare and review Preliminary Loan Analyses (“PLA’s”) for mortgage loan opportunities under the direction of the respective Chief Underwriter, Deputy Chief Underwriter or Senior Underwriter for the various loan products. * Preparation, review and submission of Loan Proposals, Transaction Summaries, Quote Sheets, Term Sheets, HUD Concept Packages, Loan Applications and Engagement Letters * Assist in reviewing and preparing underwriting analyses necessary for Fannie Mae deliverables * Communicate clearly with borrowers, issuers, originators, underwriters and others to facilitate transaction flow * Assist Origination team by identifying key underwriting issues, review, preliminary sign off on initial deal screenings for Fannie Mae and commercial loans to ensure i) programmatic requirements are met and in compliance with the applicable loan execution, and ii) that the transaction represents and acceptable credit risk. * Assist in the preparation of Loan Commitments * Ensure transactions have all approvals necessary and documentation is complete prior to Rate Lock * Ensure that proper notification, communication and coordination has occurred with Red Capital Group’s closing, delivery, legal and compliance personnel * Help develop and implement necessary enhancements for analysis and Loan Committee submissions * Portray a high quality image for Red Capital Group and put forth above average effort and diligence * Other underwriting and special projects as needed and appropriate based upon experience level * All other duties as assigned

* Bachelor’s degree or 1-year of relevant experience required; Real Estate Finance, Finance or Accounting concentration a plus * Previous commercial lending or appraisal/appraisal apprentice experience is preferred * Experience with Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, Conduit, Life Company or FHA programs a plus * Ability to work well under pressure and adjust to varied workloads * Excellent communication and organizational skills * Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint) * Position requires ability to travel on a limited basis * Requires an independent worker with good project management knowledge and ability to adjust to ever changing environment * Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality required
