Senior Java / J2EE Engineer for Risk and Fraud

Oportun uses advanced data analytics and technology to “score” and lend money to individuals with limited credit history – people other lenders consider “unscorable.”

* Design, develop, test, implement and analyze computer systems and network applications based on client and business needs. * Develop computer systems and databases using Object Oriented programming technologies. * Migrate and clean data as needed and provide professional assistance and tech support to internal and external clients regarding system maintenance and business requirements. * May assume a leadership role as needed.

**Qualifications:** * Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible Java/J2EE software engineering experience that includes the following: * Delivering object-oriented systems using Linux, Spring, Hibernate, Javascript * Building web services using REST and SOAP web services, database and data migration experience using MySQL and PostgreSQL database software. * BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Engineering or related. **Preferred Skills:** * Financial Fraud or malware/internet intrusion detection software experience is a plus. * Solid experience creating customer-facing applications. * Experience with Groovy will be a strong plus. * Experience with Cloud Computing technologies like Amazon Web Services (AWS). * Experience with NoSQL Database like MongoDB will be a strong plus. * Experience with Search technologies like Solr/Lucene * Experience with IntelliJ or Eclipse IDE development tools * Experience in financial services * Experience with Agile/Scrum process
