Mobile Product Designer

OnDeck (ONDK) uses data aggregation and electronic payment technology to evaluate the financial health of small and medium sized businesses to efficiently deliver capital to a market underserved by banks. Through the OnDeck platform, millions of small businesses can obtain affordable loans. We are changing the way small businesses borrow money by combining our passion for Main Street with cutting-edge technology.

We are looking for a talented Product Designer to join OnDeck to specialize in mobile application design.

* Work directly with designers, marketers, product managers and engineers to define the OnDeck mobile product. * Creatively solve hard problems. * Design for consistency, performance, maintainability and reliability. * Test your ideas and your code. * Watch real customers use your designs. * Ship interfaces and interactions to thousands of small business owners who depend on OnDeck. * Advocate for technologies and processes to improve our productivity and the quality of our products. * Work on large design initiatives within an iterative process. * Design and maintain systems and standards, including pattern libraries and other light-weight, living documentation. * Design for core application flows and experiences.

You’re passionate about people and design. You’re one part designer, one part engineer. You want small business owners focused on growing their business, not seeking financing. * Experienced (5+ years) in graphic design, user experience design, front-end development, interaction design or interface design. * Have a portfolio of work that you have shipped to the world, including multiple mobile web/application projects across multiple platforms (web, Android, iOS, etc.). * Well versed in universal design principles. * Strongly based in graphic design, user interface and typography fundamentals. * Experienced with design software of your preference. * Have working experience with HTML, CSS, Less/Sass, and JavaScript/CoffeeScript. * Passionate about current prototyping methods for communicating different design solutions. * Obsessed with delivering robust solutions to the market quickly, but without sacrificing quality. * Clearly able to explain technical concepts and make decisions with non technical team members. * Exceptional at collaboration, project management, writing, documentation and communication. * Familiar with limitations and features of modern browsers, frameworks, and front-end technologies. * Usability advocate and opposed to unnecessary complexity.
