Summary
Omada Health is on a mission to make healthy behavior change more accessible and achievable. We are pioneering the concept of digital therapeutics, which are educational and social interventions that help people avoid chronic disease. We’re looking for an experienced site reliability engineer to join our Platform (DevOps) team. If you're ready to guide technical decision making and work hands-on with some of the best engineers in the health industry, this gig is for you. As a key member of our platform engineering team you will help design, build and maintain systems necessary to continue our rapid growth. You should be proactive in learning new technologies and be ready to lead technical work. Our team practices pair programming (at least 50% of the week) so you will have the opportunity to learn new techniques and share your skills.
Responsibilities
* Guide technical decision making * Mentor and collaborate on an agile, skilled team * Automate, automate, automate! * Instrument simple and effective systems for figuring out what’s broken and what’s going to break * Work with software developers on design and implementation of large scale distributed production systems
Ideal Candidate
**What you need for this role:** Considerable full-time experience (2-3+ years) with some/most of the following: * Linux and shell scripting, like the back of your hand * AWS & EC2 * Infrastructure management: Terraform or similar * Configuration management: Ansible or similar, e.g. Chef or Puppet * Networking: designing, implementing and securing networks and routing systems, DNS * Databases: Some DBA experience, especially with PostgreSQL * Application deployment: Nginx, Rails, Capistrano, or similar * Monitoring systems: Nagios or similar * Security: of systems and networks; authentication (LDAP), firewalls, VPNs, VPCs **Additional experience with some of the following a plus:** * Experience operating in a HIPAA and/or PCI-compliant environment * Container systems: Docker * Programming/web development **General experience/skills:** * Intellectual curiosity, positive attitude, and a desire to take the digital health space by storm * Love of mentoring and the interpersonal skill to help a group act as a team * Strong technical responsibility over the products you work on and the codebases you maintain * Experience in building a high-volume, highly available, distributed web application in a hosted environment * Excellent written and verbal communication skills
