Summary
As Senior System Administrator for Olo you will maintain, enhance and monitor our production infrastructure to ensure the high levels of security, availability and performance expected by our clients.
Responsibilities
* Analyze application logs, event logs, and service provider logs for security, performance and availability concerns, and escalate to the developers where necessary * Drive efforts in performance tuning and capacity and load testing * Serve as first line of response for outage incidents and system alerts * Manage DNS, IPs, firewall configs, load balancer configs and hardware configuration * Serve as liaison with infrastructure service providers * Keep all servers and software packages secure, patched and up-to-date * Analyze application logs, event logs, and service provider logs and escalate to the developers where necessary * Renew domains and SSL certificates * Troubleshoot network issues between Olo and third parties * Run backup restore tests, failover tests, security incident response tests
Ideal Candidate
As the ideal candidate, you are excited by the prospect of being on the hook to maintain Olo’s crown jewel. You have been responsible for the security, performance and reliability of a complex, hosted, distributed software system. You are a Windows system guru but also know your way around Linux. You understand what it takes to secure a distributed Web application infrastructure. You are well versed in the world of network administrators, having maintained and configured routers, firewalls, load balancers, etc. You are continually learning, driven toward mastery. You can communicate equally well with tech geeks, developers, managers and execs. You are paranoid by nature and protective of the system. * Experience with many hosting types including managed dedicated, co-located and cloud * Solid knowledge of Amazon Web Services * Experience configuring firewalls, VPNs and load balancers, both hardware and virtual * Experience running a high-availability 24x7 .NET infrastructure * Expert knowledge of Windows Server, IIS and SQL Server administration. You should be comfortable building web farms, SQL Server AlwaysOn clusters, optimizing the Windows TCP/IP stack, etc. * Knowing your way around Linux (CentOS and/or Ubuntu) * Expert knowledge of secure operational concerns * Competent at scripting in Powershell, Python, F# or similar * Comfortable in .NET and SQL enough to read stack traces and perform basic troubleshooting * Excellent English writing and communication skills * Highly Beneficial * B.S. degree in IT-related field * Experience with VMWare, Redis, ElasticSearch or PCI DSS compliance
