Summary
Ogilvy Public Relations is seeking an Account Executive to join our corporate practice. Our Account Executive performs daily account work, including drafting written materials, coordinating events or media/influencer interviews and meetings, maintaining media contact, performing or overseeing media monitoring and measurement reports, and interacting with clients. This position requires basic PR skills in writing, media, organizational skills, production skills, program development and presentations. Previous agency experience and proven media relations skills are strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
* Acts as a liaison between client, outside suppliers and other internal/external audiences * Manages and executes day-to-day account deliverables and identifies deadline and deliverable issues * Drafts sound, credible documents (e.g., client memos, news releases, case histories, bylines, op-eds, media lists, etc), with minimal direction and need for significant editing) * Implements events (e.g. press conferences, media briefings, analyst meetings, etc). Arranges or may oversee logistics, coordination and reporting * Executes media relations activities and has working knowledge of media, advocates and their needs * Builds relationships with target media, advocates and influencers * Draws insights from media coverage reports, develops storylines and contributes to team brainstorms and ideation * Effectively pitches to land placements * Uses internal and external research capabilities and prepares in-depth analyses * Contributes to development of new business programs, primarily through research and ideation support * Collaborates with peers and actively participates in team, staff and client meetings * Demonstrates initiative in identifying and proposing solutions to team concerns, while operating with a high level of independence * Proactively identifies and completes work that needs to be done to move deliverables forward
Ideal Candidate
* 2-3 years of experience * Agency experience strongly preferred * Corporate communications, B2B technology and/or financial services industry experience a plus * Passionate about media relations * Exemplary communications skills (written and oral), including experience communicating complex subject matter to lay audiences * Superior organization skills, attention to detail and follow through * Proven ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast paces and deadline driven environment * BA/BS
