Summary
Ocean Spray is looking for a Scientist or Senior Scientist to join our Global Sensory Science team within Research & Development. This position will report into the Sensory Manager and is based in Lakeville, MA. This position is responsible for sensory science project management, which includes coordinating and overseeing the execution of internal and external sensory research, maintaining sensory testing resources and capabilities (software, facilities) and partnering with business teams within R&D and the broader organization to efficiently and accurately address business needs.
Responsibilities
* Sensory Science Thought Leader * Promote the latest sensory science research and drive implementation of new methods and technologies * Be proactive and creative * Be the sensory expert on collaborative, cross-functional teams * Sensory Science Project Manager * Lead sensory on project teams including the development of specific sensory research questions and recommendation of appropriate research designs * Must be able to drive execution by balancing resource constraints while being a champion for excellence * Other Sensory Support * Develop and support plant-based quality activities and conduct on-site training activities as needed * Help support Ocean Spray’s consumer panel including sensory tests and recruitment activities
Ideal Candidate
* B.S. degree in Food Science, Sensory Science, Psychology or similar field. Advanced degree and experience a plus. Title will be commensurate with experience. * Will be expected to quickly come up to speed on both survey design and analysis tools (e.g. Compusense Cloud) as well as be able to learn how to execute data analyses in statistical software programs (e.g. Minitab, R). * Willing to travel (up to 20%)
