Responsibilities
- Develop complete mold designs from concept to completion for plastics injection tool manufacturing. - Engineer complex non-standard SPI class 101 and 102 injection molded tools for mass production. - Preparation of new mold specifications, technical drawings, GD&T. - Perform design review of products for manufacturability/mold making (DFM). - Complete mold design review from external tooling manufacturer. - Understanding of injection manufacturing in a variety of processes and materials. - Other duties and responsibilities.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience with PTC Creo Parametric or Pro/Engineer software is a must. - Knowledge and experience with the injection manufacturing process, including raw materials, production processes. - Knowledge of co-molding and insert molding. - Understanding the fundamentals of plastic engineering and manufacturing principles. - Able to solve complex problems through developing and evaluating options and implementing solutions. - Strong time management skills with good planning and judgment to accomplishing goals within challenging deadlines. - Technical troubleshooting of injection mold & production equipment related issues. - Active in continuous tooling & technology improvements. - Identifying and resolving injection tooling issues. - Knowledge of Solidworks, Alias, and Rhino software a plus. - Implementation of quality and safety improvements for production. - Generation and implementation of cost reduction ideas. - Self-starter, self-motivated, ability to complete project goals with minimal supervision with high attention to details and quality of work. - Experience working in cross-functional team environment. - Possess a wide degree of creativity, open-mindedness, and originality. - Must be willing and able to adapt to change. - Occasional international travel.
