Summary

The Sr. System Reliability Engineer will join NVDIAs existing Reliability Engineering team, involved in NVDIAs diverse system product range of existing and new products in the Consumer and Automotive electronics product space. The successful candidate will provide Reliability Engineering support throughout the product life cycle toward enhancing Product Reliability at each phase. This position is not for silicon or chip reliability, but for complete Consumer and Automotive products.

Responsibilities
  • Reliability responsibility of Consumer and Automotive products from Concept to End-of-Life phases. Establish, deliver and maintain product reliability standards and metrics for NVDIA's new system technologies, leveraging existing tools and processes or developing new as required.
  • Define and implement Reliability Plans & Specifications for Consumer and Automotive products and sub-systems. Interface and interact with all pertinent engineering groups and suppliers ensuring the desired reliability is achieved using Design for Reliability (DfR) approaches.
  • Participate in product and engineering design reviews, assessing the reliability budget of products/designs and drive changes which enhance product reliability.
  • Provide reliability predictions, along with test plans and methods to assess and drive product reliability to the desired levels. Perform and coordinate appropriate testing with associated failure analysis and recommendations for improving designs and manufacturing.
  • Develop & present methods of correlating reliability test results with actual field performance.
Ideal Candidate
  • BS in Engineering, Material Science, Physics or related field and minimum of 10 years in a hardware reliability environment. MS or PHD preferred.
  • Thorough understanding and hands-on experience on theoretical and practical Reliability concepts as it relates to high tech electronic consumer products. Good command and understanding of statistical concepts/models and analysis and they relate to product reliability & life analysis. Proficient with FMEA, FTA, and Physics of Failure concepts & methods.
  • Excellent familiarity with electronics manufacturing & testing, mechanical subassemblies and related subsystems such as displays, batteries, and electromechanical components.
  • Hands-on experience with Reliability demonstration & testing along with accelerated life methods such as Thermal Cycling, Shock & Vibration, ALT/HALT/HASS, Burn-in, and ORT for components, subassemblies, and complete products.
  • Strong background in consumer and/or automotive electronics and products.
  • Good verbal and writing skills, ability to communicate at a high level.
  • Solid project management skills and ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects during development and production stages.
  • ASQ certification desired but not necessary.
