SENIOR MECHANICAL PRODUCT DESIGN ENGINEER

Candidate will be responsible for the execution of product design either individually or by leading a combination of internal contributors, outside suppliers, Product Design Engineers.

• Play leading role in mechanical architecture definition and product development
• Prepare innovative early design concepts and product architecture working with fast paced consumer product marketing driven cycles
• Candidate will be responsible for all aspects of mechanical systems development, i.e. Structures, Displays, Acoustic, Battery, Antenna and Thermal Systems, etc.
• Research bleeding edge technologies, materials and processes
• Work with Industrial Design to create cutting edge designs

• BSME minimum and 8+ years relevant experience in product and mechanical design
• Experience in hand-held consumer electronics designs
• Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), and Design for Assembly (DFA), statistical tolerance analysis techniques, CTF dimensioning, and geometric tolerancing.
• Excellent 3D CAD experience, i.e. ProE, Solidworks, Unigraphics
• Strong analytical/problem solving skills and ability to use statistical tools and techniques.
• Working knowledge of finite element analysis theory and mechanical engineering analysis.
• Flexibility and comfort working in a quickly changing environment.
• Experience in high volume manufacturing with casting, plastics, sheet metal, etc.
• Superior communication skills
• Experience in managing outside resources including consultants, component suppliers, and high volume manufacturing partners.
• Experience working with overseas and domestic manufacturers.
• Experience with processes to realize Industrial Design requirement including materials, high level finishes etc.
• Experience in, Human Factors and Quality is a plus
