Summary
The Energy Marketing Manager, will primarily be responsible for identifying and originating business opportunities for Reliant Energy via the indirect authorized agent sales channel to achieve specific annual sales goals. Will develop new, maintain and enhance existing authorized agent relationships in South Texas region
Responsibilities
- Identify, qualify, onboard and train new agents on all aspects of the authorized agent program in order to drive rapid growth of the channel - Market energy commodity and risk management services to targeted authorized agents and clients to increase Reliant’s success in the indirect sales channels. - Prepare and present effective sales proposals to agents and clients that will develop profitable results. - Maintain assigned levels of sales activity including new agent onboarding, existing agent contacts, RFP responses, and final contracts to produce consistent results above assigned sales objectives. - Ensure profitability of signed supply commitments throughout the term – monitor customer service issues, accounts receivable and other contractually significant events - Actively seek out and recommend new products and services that increase profitability of existing and new customers. Assist with the development and testing of new electricity products/services through continuous discovery of customer needs as well as introducing cross sell/upsell opportunities - Maintain high awareness of the competitive environment, electricity marketing trends, and current pricing strategies and utility tariffs. - Collaborate in efforts to significantly improve system and processes required for the indirect channel. - Represent company in a professional and ethical manner. - Assist with ad hoc requests as needed
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in business, marketing or related discipline preferred. **Experience:** * Minimum of 3 years experience in the energy field with a successful track record of profitable selling and managing direct and/or indirect relationships with business customers preferred. * Experience in high volume, commodity based sales environment preferred. **Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:** - Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management System (CRM) (Siebel). - Ability to persuasively explain multiple products to a diverse group of business customers. - Effective in a variety of formal presentation settings; one on one, small and large groups; effective both inside and outside the organization; can change tactics midstream accordingly. - Detailed understanding of business development processes or has sufficient technical background and learning aptitude to be able to quickly master the basic components of the processes. - Knowledge of deregulated electric market, preferably the ERCOT market. - Strong industry background and focus as well as unique vision to identify new opportunities for Reliant Energy Solutions LLC. - Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form to all levels of an organization. - Ability to manage projects and resources. - Demonstrated ability to learn new industry, company, product or technical knowledge and effectively convey that knowledge to customers. - Demonstrated ability to manage and resolve complicated customer issues. - Must be able to work in an independent environment without daily supervision. - Must be a proven self-starter. - Must be an effective team player - Capable of making good judgments/decisions - Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. - Ability to meet defined sales/financial goals and objectives. - High level of honesty and integrity - Valid Texas Drivers License required **Physical Requirements:** - Ability to work on a computer in a seated position and use a telephone is required. - Majority of work performed on a personal computer in a seated position. - Overtime required as necessary. - Some travel required.
