Operating Mechanic

The Operating Mechanic will be responsible for the field operation of the facility including mechanical, electrical and steam equipment.

* Must be experienced with equipment including high voltage breaker operation, high pressure boilers, steam turbines, generators, pumps, motors and other auxiliary equipment, boiler water chemistry systems, and other equipment associated with the physical operation of a facility generating electrical power. * Maintains proper water quality for boiler water, condensate, water softeners, to prevent damage to power plant equipment. * Insures rotating equipment lubrication schedules are current. * Adheres to departmental and governmental safety standards, operating standards and organizational and departmental personal appearance policies.

**Minimum Requirements** * High School Diploma or GED Equivalent * Must be able to perform physical duties associated with steam generation of electricity. * Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including recordkeeping. * Must recieve a rating of "recommended" on the NRG Pre-Employment Skills Assessment. **Preferred Qualifications** * Associates Degree or equivalent in engineering or related field or technical school * 3-6 years related experience.
