Summary
Coordinates the design, development, implementation and maintenance of healthcare applications. Recommends and implements approved system improvements and user training. Provides clinical software support to Nursing Management and staff.
Responsibilities
1. Coordinates the design and development of clinical software. 2. Serves as liaison between end users and IT Dept. regarding design and development of clinical documentation. 3. Makes recommendations to IT Dept. for enhancements to clinical software. 4. Assesses software design and development with relationship to clinical practice. 5. Coordinates the ongoing testing of clinical software enhancements, upgrades, and developments. 6. Trains clinical staff on software enhancements, hot fixes, and upgrades. 7. Directs the implementation of new software and upgrades to existing software programs. 8. Assures that implementation of software programs are in line with clinical practice. 9. Provides clinical software support. 10. Monitors clinical software for functionality and identifies and reports defects in software. 11. Supports clinical staff through Help Desk, Agency Visits, and Patient Visits. 12. Identifies specifications to support the design of new or modified applications. 13. Troubleshoots and diagnoses clinical information system problems and coordinates solutions. 14. Documents all software problems, solutions and outcomes for future reference. 15. Recommends and implements approved policies and procedures relating to the information system. 16. Performs related duties, as required.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, required. Master's Degree, preferred. * Licensed to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State. * Current Driver's License. * Minimum of five (5) years of relevant computer experience in a hospital setting with home health care expertise required. * Knowledge of Home Health Oasis software, required.
