Summary
The ideal Senior Marketing Analyst is responsible for providing actionable insights to various business stakeholders by synthesizing business knowledge and leveraging analytical methods such as data mining, segmentation, customer profiling, test and learn experiments and multivariate data analysis with the goal of measuring and understanding marketing effectiveness and assessing customer behavior overtime.
Responsibilities
* Provide actionable insights to Nordstrom Marketing through data analytics and synthesize results into succinct presentations that aid in senior management decision making. * Analyze and report on test and learn experiments (A/B, direct mail, digital, email testing) for all Nordstrom channels. * Design and oversee test and learn experiments for marketing initiatives. * Summarize test results into actionable insights with estimated benefits. * Dive deep into complex business problems and provide through hypothesis testing and deliver insights to power acquisition and demand * Create targeting and segmentation schemes to optimize marketing spend. * Partner with key stakeholders to identify opportunities to solve large scale data problems * Support analysis of marketing campaigns through statistical modeling, customer segmentation and profiling, design of experiment, and data mining. * Oversee and manage global online marketing reporting, stakeholder interaction and resolve issues as they surface by working cross-functionally. * Actively collaborate to apply learning to other channels/campaigns/products/business units. * Utilize SAS or other relevant statistical tools for data mining and predictive analytics. * Perform other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree in math, statistics, operations research, economics or related quantitative discipline with experience is required. * Advanced quantitative degree preferred. * 3+ years experience using SAS/SQL/R/Python (or equivalent) programming languages required. * 2+ years experience analyzing data, drawing conclusions and making recommendations; consulting experience is a plus. * 2+ years experience reporting and analyzing all marketing campaigns as they relate to the profitable acquisition of new customers and existing customers preferred * Ability to identify and resolve problem by leveraging multivariate data analysis * Ability to be flexible and deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. * Ability to communicate in both written and verbal form. * Ability to meet established timelines. * Ability to work well with others. * Ability to take ownership and take initiative on projects.
