Summary
The Master Planner is responsible for overseeing the scheduling of customer orders and flow through production. The Master Planner is responsible for establishing, maintaining and improving scheduling processes and also responsible for coordinating communication of forecasted scheduled and completion dates to team members both domestically and globally. Will be responsible for operational improvements that lead to improved efficiencies and on-time delivery.
Responsibilities
* Lead scheduling meetings and publish reports on backlog status, on-time delivery, capacity utilization and other major factors that affect facility throughput. * Provide regular feedback to sales for scheduling and forecasting lead times. * Analyze material, labor and machine availability and communicate to sales, engineering, manufacturing and purchasing to meet scheduling requirements and delivery commitments. * Facilitate project meetings to ensure that sales, manufacturing, engineering and purchasing are in agreement with customer expectations. * Review and maintain routings, labor standards, schedules, and work center data in order to continually improve data input/output from ERP. * Create the master schedule by utilizing ERP system, and make recommendations to improve the system for visibility of planning and scheduling within operations. * Assign schedule to sales, engineering and manufacturing departments. Report job progress, maintain target cycle times, inventory levels and manufacturing order completion dates/acknowledged customer shipping dates on all job orders. * Monitor the schedule throughout the entire process from receipt of order to delivery date. Flag any orders that may be at risk of not meeting delivery commitment and communicate information to sales, engineering, manufacturing and purchasing in a timely manner.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Materials Management, Industrial Engineering or related field. * 3-5 years of experience in materials scheduling in a manufacturing environment. * Experience in a custom engineered manufacturing environment. * In depth knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, material flow processes, manufacturing principles and methodologies. **Skills and Abilities** * Must have excellent organizational, analytical and communication (verbal and written) skills. * Proficient in ERP systems, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PPT)
