Summary
We are looking for an exceptionally talented individual to join the Newsela Marketing team for the summer. As the Marketing Intern, you will support the development and execution of our summer online marketing campaigns including social media, email, retargeting and beyond. The successful candidate is extremely organized, detail oriented, and creative. You’re ready to get your hands dirty without forgetting about the big picture. You’re hungry and excited to learn about all areas of marketing and education technology. You deal well with shifting priorities and can handle an ever-evolving environment.
Responsibilities
* Manage the day-to-day operations and success of our summer reading programs, with the goal of driving student activity over the summer months. * Develop content across email, social, blog, and other channels. * Execute and optimize online advertising campaigns through retargeting, Facebook and more. * Work closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Community, Design and Content. * Assist with ad hoc design work across marketing channels like social, e-mail, and paid.
Ideal Candidate
**The Ideal Candidate** * Enrolled in MBA Program or senior enrolled in Bachelor’s Degree. * Experience managing social media channels. * Experience with paid digital including Facebook Ads and Google AdWords. **Some Plusses** * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or other design tools. * Demonstrated understanding of online marketing. * Passion for education and making a difference within education. * Thrives in fast-paced, entrepreneurial, startup environment. * Strong problem-solving skills, anticipating needs and risks. * Experience with Adobe Creative Suite is a huge plus. * A self-starter who takes initiative to get things done.
