Summary
The Market Research Analyst will work closely with the Brokers and the Transaction Manager to provide market research and assist in writing reports, offering memorandums, proposals and general data pertaining to multifamily assets. Additionally, the position will be responsible for assistance in relaying this information through the production of comprehensive marketing materials.
Responsibilities
* Perform market research of demographic characteristics, economic conditions and area overviews for investment offerings. * Assist in creating and writing offering materials, proposals and market reports for multifamily properties. * Coordinate with the marketing team in the preparation of marketing proposals and presentations. * Utilize market research to support the broker’s efforts in presentations and the marketing of multifamily assets for clients. * Review and maintain database of multifamily properties by researching ownership data, sales, rents and debt information. * Conduct in the writing, research and review of market white papers/newsletters. * Update and review multifamily development pipeline and sales for all major markets. * Mapping of market surveys, condo conversions, new sales, new developments, etc. * Assist in the underwriting and valuation of multifamily/commercial real estate using historical financial statements, pro forms and discounted cash flow analysis. * Conduct various types of financial analysis included but not limited to: internal rate of return, present value, value-add, replacement cost, residual and rent roll analysis. * Request and upload financial reports for listed properties * Track Historical Income and Expense data for multifamily properties. * Analyze performance trends of properties that ARA is actively marketing * Proofread offering materials, proposals and market reports * Provide support to the brokers and perform other tasks/ad hoc analyses as needed.
Ideal Candidate
* Relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred * Excellent oral and written communication skills * Ability to work with minimal supervision under tight deadlines * Ability to collaborate effectively with production and brokerage teams * Attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment * Prior experience in market research and/or technical writing in the real estate industry preferred * Minimum 2 years Financial Analyst/Market Research experienced preferred * Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel * Strong organizational and multitasking skills * May perform other duties as required **Note:** The statements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees, and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required of personnel so classified. **Newmark Grubb Knight Frank is an Equal Opportunity Employer, M/F/D/V**
