Mechanical Design Engineer – HVAC

This position offers the opportunity to design and engineer mechanical systems for our client’s buildings. These projects range in size and scope from 2,000 to 200,000 sq. ft. Creativity, teamwork, and the ability to meet project budgets and schedules are the keys to success for this position.

* Determine mechanical system type to be used and provide input as needed during architectural design development phase. * Run HVAC load calculations and select equipment. * Design ductwork and piping systems. * Prepare working drawings and specifications for HVAC and plumbing (and fire sprinkler design/build guideline drawings and specifications if needed). * Comply with code requirements. * Coordinate work with architecture and other engineering disciplines. * Solve engineering problems using experience, judgement, and education but is expected to ask for assistance when needed. * Check submittals and shop drawings. * Respond to RFI’s. * Prepare ASI’s and addenda. * Perform site visits when required to determine existing conditions or verify new construction. * Maintain project file records.

* Proficient in AutoCAD * Revit experience beneficial * Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering required * 10+ years of experience in commercial HVAC design required * Professional Engineer License required * Experience in plumbing design preferred * Willingness to attend in-house seminars and continuing education opportunities outside the office * 5-10% travel required * Coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
