Summary
Work for a premier Pharmacy Benefit Management Company! This position will support the Trade Relations Department in the contracting, formulary implementation, and overall maintenance of drug rebates from pharmaceutical manufacturers, while maintaining the exceptional level of professionalism and customer service standards that we have attained within the pharmacy benefit management industry. This position reports to the Senior Manager Trade Relations.
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical and financial input and responsibility in the presentation of client and prospective client rebate recommendations * Develop formulary strategies to decrease pharmacy costs for clients, members, and the company * Conduct contract analysis and review of contract language for incoming, new, and amended contracts * Ensure contract compliance with government requirements, including CMS regulations for Medicare * Conduct clinical reviews and assessments of: (1) newly launched drugs, (2) therapeutic classes, and (3) products in the pharmaceutical pipeline * Monitor the financial impact of our drug formularies and performing client business reviews, to develop appropriate contract and utilization management strategies * Oversight of formulary changes and subsequent financial impact * Reconciliation of contract compliance issues and adjustments as needed * Provide clinical drug information and recommendations to appropriate committees (P&T and otherwise) * Assist in the clinical development of the Trade Relations compliance team * Development of projects that advance the goals of the department * Other duties as assigned
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy or Pharm.D.required * Business degree, or experience, preferred * Minimum 2 to 5 years of pharmacy benefit management experience * Knowledge and experience in Medicare Part D (including formulary and cost-sharing requirements) and Managed Medicaid preferred * Working knowledge of clinical and formulary issues * Understanding of managed care pharmaceutical rebate business practices and rebate contract language * A knowledgeable individual with experience in the insurance, pharmaceutical manufacturer, or PBM sectors. * Excellent communicator who can efficiently convey directions/messages in various formats, including email, contract red-lining, and meetings * Individual who can quickly and efficiently synthesize information, data, and news * An intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills * A decisive individual who possesses a strategic focus as well as an operational, implementation and detail oriented perspective * A strategic planner with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment and strong operational focus * Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines * A well-organized and self-directed individual who is able to work with minimal amount of supervision * Capability to efficiently complete tasks in a fast paced environment * Proficient in Microsoft Office and industry related software programs * Willingness to travel
