Direct and coordinate all activities of sales and marketing functions in accordance with established policies, practices and plans. Achieve goals and objectives by performing duties personally and through subordinates.
Develop strategies, plans and budgets for activities associated with sales, marketing and new product development. Execute plans and manage domestic and international marketing and sales activities to maximize revenue and profitability. Collaborate with other departments and business units to coordinate global sales and marketing activities.
Monitor and manage department expenses within budget. Identify opportunities to improve processes and implement changes to achieve cost savings.
Administer pricing of all product lines, including analyzing, planning and executing price adjustments. Coordinate list pricing, quotations and discounting activities according to manufacturing cost, customer requirements, market conditions and competition. Negotiate terms of contracts. Achieve resultant gross margin goals for product lines.
Establish and manage distribution strategies to maximize market penetration and coverage while avoiding redundancy and conflicts among distribution partners. Work with key accounts in distribution, OEM and end-user markets directly and through sales managers. Directly manage network of sales representatives and agents.
Initiate and direct new product planning, development and launch activities, including brand strategies and positioning of branded products. Screen new product concepts. Develop and maintain expertise and awareness of technical capabilities of product lines.
Initiate, plan and oversee administration of marketing communication activities, including publicity, literature development, training materials, on-line presence, advertising and trade show activity. Participate directly in trade shows and work with key distribution accounts on local shows.
Analyze sales data to assess performance versus plans, budgets and forecasts. Gather information and monitor competitor activities. Report performance and develop countermeasures as required to ensure objectives are achieved.
Instill and nurture a customer-oriented culture. Monitor customer satisfaction and address complaints. Identify opportunities and lead changes to improve performance.
Manages District Sales Managers, Business Development Managers, Marketing Analyst, and Graphics Designer. Directly or through others manages independent sales representatives/agencies. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s degree preferred. International Sales and Marketing experience is preferred. Must have durable goods / industrial equipment experience. Must be able to travel 25% to 50% domestically and internationally.
