Digital Designer, Marketing

NYCEDC is seeking a Digital Designer to work full time in the Marketing Department to provide design leadership for the company’s digital assets, which include NYCEDC.com, micro-sites, e-marketing materials, and the company-wide intranet.

• Work with Creative Director, head of department and marketing teams to establish objectives, strategies and initiatives for digital communications to support the company’s and the City’s needs and goals
• Conceptualize and develop original digital designs
• Provide user interface enhancements to existing digital assets
• Provide production design, including crafting style sheets and design specifications
• Work will include, but not be limited to, creation of emails/email templates, advertising campaigns, web graphics and digital data visualizations, and update content management systems
• Provide support for social media channel research/strategy, design, and development
• Proactively identify interactive best practices that NYCEDC can replicate and/or iterate upon
• Consult with, advise and build relationships with internal business units and the digital community at large, to enhance NYCEDC’s leadership in the digital space.
• Other duties as assigned

• 6-8 years of experience in digital/web design
• Experience writing and editing for online and understanding of online industry standards
• Strong interest in multimedia and strategic online content development
• Ability to work closely with project managers to create compelling content solutions that support business and marketing goals
• Ability to establish content standards & guidelines and provide direction when necessary to ensure consistency in style, tone and quality
• Ability to manage multiple projects at one time and meet all deadlines
• New York City residence is required within 180 days of hire
• Expertise in Photoshop, Illustrator, HTML/CSS, Dreamweaver, Quark/InDesign
• Strong conceptual understanding of technical web requirements
• Strong project management skills and expert understanding of web design/development process
• Experience with content management systems, e-marketing content delivery tools, and mobile technology
