Senior Software Engineer for Node.js - UI Platform

Netflix is the world’s leading Internet television network with over 81 million members in over 190 countries enjoying more than 125 million hours of TV shows and movies per day, including original series, documentaries and feature films.

We are looking for an experienced engineer with knowledge of the inner workings of Node.js and V8 to join our team. The UI Platform team builds, maintains and advances core technology leveraged across our client applications. Through our engineering innovation, we enable UI product teams to focus on building amazing product experiences and A/B tests. You will develop, optimize and help scale the Node.js platform here at Netflix.

* You are a developer with experience using and writing REST APIs * You have operational experience running server-side Node.js at scale * You are experienced in solving large-scale engineering challenges, utilizing cloud-based solutions, and working in distributed systems * You care deeply about building reliable, robust and observable applications * You enjoy collaborating across teams and contributing to open source

* Build, optimize and scale our Node.js platform and infrastructure * Ensure full observability into the state of the application and real-time analytics * Integrate or build tools to help debug running instances for CPU, memory, requests and errors * Design and develop high-volume, low-latency applications delivering high-availability and performance * Collaborate with engineers across the organization to identify patterns of problems and create solutions that can be shared across clients * Provide technical leadership across UI engineering and help guide the overall engineering vision * Improve developer productivity through better tools, processes and frameworks * Evangelize software development best practices and develop/conduct training on core architecture and libraries
