Senior Revenue Accountant

* You’ll be responsible for the accounting, including revenue recognition, of subscriber billings under US GAAP and SEC rules. This will include preparation of monthly accounting entries, account reconciliations, monthly close packages, quarterly CFO metrics and other ad hoc analyses. * As one of the primary revenue accountants, you’ll assist our international and music rights teams with bridging the gap between our US financials and statutory and local reporting requirements. * You’ll drive process improvements and contribute to exciting projects such as new revenue-generating initiatives, accounting/policy review, system design and testing, metrics dashboards, and more. * You’ll validate that member reporting (Total, Paid, Free) is appropriate through customer billings analyses.

* Accounting smarts and a solid foundation - We’d like you to have 2+ years of public accounting (preferably from the Big 4) and 2+ years of industry experience under your belt, backed by a bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or finance. CPA license is preferred * Communication and innovation - Our revenue recognition is simple but our systems are not. You need to be “tech-savvy” - confident, flexible and proficient in your partnering with engineering teams - and effective within cross-functional teams including finance, tax, FP&A, customer service, etc. * Attention to detail + love for Excel - We pride ourselves on producing high quality work, scrutinizing important numbers and formulas for accuracy, and using spreadsheets to reconcile accounts and solve problems; we like our accountants to love Excel pivot tables and be unphased by large data sets.
