Originals Production Engineer

Netflix is looking to recruit an On-Boarding Engineer for Netflix Originals within the Media Engineering & Partnerships team. This individual will act as the first tier technical resource for partners delivering Netflix Originals content. They will proactively support close alignment between the operations and workflows of production, post-production and those of Netflix. Additionally, they will be a technical resource for internal teams throughout Netflix.

* Providing first tier technical support for Netflix Originals On-boarding and Delivery. * Troubleshooting media files for conformance to Netflix Originals specifications. * Educating various internal and external teams on Netflix Originals technical specifications for Video, Audio and Subtitles. * Understanding industry complexities and communicating them to internal teams. * Working with internal Engineering teams to maintain understanding and proficiency of Netflix systems. * Provide discovery and analysis of post-production workflows to collaboratively achieve optimization. * Maintain currency on Audio, Video, Subtitling and Streaming technology.

* Strong desire to be a recognized industry leader in the preparation of media assets for a Global streaming platform. * Strong customer orientation and helpful, collaborative demeanor. * An ability to translate technical jargon into plain English. * Extensive understanding of production and post-production workflows with an ability to quickly analyze and reconcile external operations against those of Netflix. * Deep understanding of Mezzanine file formats, video codecs, file manufacturing processes and common industry tools for file preparation - especially IMF. * Willingness and aptitude to educate both internal and external entities with varying degrees of knowledge in your area of expertise. * Ability to develop long-standing relationships with post-production operational teams. * Ability to communicate and interact on a Global level and frame projects with sensitivity to cultural diversity and industrial variation. * Exhaustive knowledge of streaming video, audio, metadata, file-based delivery, and subtitling.
