Summary
As a Software Engineer you will work as part of the Cloud Applications Group responsible for actively participating in driving product development and strategy. In addition, you will participate in activities that include testing and debugging of operating systems that run NetApp storage applications. As part of the Research and Development function, the overall focus of the group is on competitive market and customer requirements, supportability, technology advances, product quality, product cost and time-to-market. Software engineers focus on enhancements to existing products as well as new product development. This position requires an individual to be creative, a quick learner, driven to produce results and demonstrates the ability to lead small teams or projects.
Responsibilities
- Drive and deliver innovations for the next generation. AltaVault product as part of Cloud Solutions Group. - Design, implement, debug and optimize highly portable network & storage I/O modules as part of complex storage software solution. - Participate in all phases of a product development, from product definition and architecture and design, through implementation, debugging, testing and early customer support. - Work collaboratively with other engineers, and be willing.
Ideal Candidate
•Strong knowledge and experience in algorithms, Linux/UNIX system software and debugging skills. •Experience with system programming or kernel programming with focus on file systems I/O path, data layout, storage efficiency, and performance. •Experience with redesign and tuning for performance. optimization of network and storage I/O. •Thorough understanding of concepts related to computer architecture, operating systems, networking, data structures and standard programming practices •Experience with multi-threaded programming and best practices. •Solid C/C++ development and debugging skills in Linux operating environments. Education and Experience A minimum of 3 - 8 years of experience is required. - A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, a Master Degree, or equivalent experience is required - Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, complex technical projects.
