We are looking for a seasoned Sr. Front End Web Developer to lead a fast-paced team of highly talented engineers. This position requires an individual to have a strong technical background, a solid UI development skills and a good understanding of the business requirements to drive a big team in an Agile environment. The candidate should be a JavaScript specialist who is able to focus on enhancements to existing product as well as new product development. He/she should be creative, team-oriented, technology savvy, and able to work with different functions of the product such as QA, product management, sales, and driven to produce results.
Essential Functions
- Participate in any and/or all phases of the product development cycle from product definition and design, through implementation including:
- Testing and/or Unit Testing
- Designing
- Test automation
- Debugging
- Review design and code
- Reliability
- Performance analysis
- Critical and/or high visibility customer support
- Understand the implications of new technology and how it can be applied to product design and product evolution
- Work on architecture, design and product definition that leads and influences decisions and outcomes related to project direction
- Act as a technical advisor and resource to other engineers and cross functional departments across Business Units
- Provide guidance and mentoring to more junior engineers
- Work with suppliers, partners or other external parties in product quality efforts as necessary
- A willingness to work on additional tasks and responsibilities that will positively contribute towards team, department, and company goals
Requirements
- Solid programming skills and web development expertise using JavaScript and related frameworks
- Loves modern JavaScript, knows ES5 to ES6+
- Experience with both functional and Object Oriented JavaScript
- Significant experience with single page applications (SPAs)
- Experience with at least one major front-end framework (React, Backbone, Angular, etc.)
- Experience with React & the Flux architecture a plus
- A good understanding of programming languages such as Java, SQL, NoSQL, REST
- Quality-driven; understands the value of unit and functional tests
- Experience building large enterprise grade application
- Experience working collaboratively with a big team of engineers and have strong influencing and leadership skills
- Understand business requirements and customer use cases
- Possess and demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven experience in leading teams in software test planning, automation, documentation and process improvement
- Ability to estimate work completion required to build an overall predictable plan
- Creative and analytical approach to problem solving
- Hold your own in technical discussion, be a subject matter expert, and have strategic influence
- Experience mentoring new talent.
Education & Experience:
- A minimum of 12 years of experience is required
- A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, a Master Degree, or a PhD; or equivalent experience is required
- Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, complex technical projects
