Summary
Database Developer / Software Engineer to deliver capabilities on our most strategic and growing Data Platform. Our Data Platforms supports a variety of consumers, including Fidelity.com, the Managed Accounts business line, the Planning & Guidance business line, as well as many other critical product spaces. These tools are built on complex data stores that have direct impact on our customer and representative facing applications. Working in collaboration with Data Architects / Analysts, the Database Developer/Software Engineer will be responsible for implementing solutions to source and deliver data for our various products. Participating in an Agile development methodology, the software engineer will perform technical design, development and testing activities.
Responsibilities
* Design, develop and testing of software solutions in below data centric technologies * Technical documentation, including technical design and solution documents * Partnering with Architecture, Analysis and QA teams during E2E project lifecycle * Troubleshooting and investigation in support of third line production support * Data research and understanding of the underlying data that supports the products * Facilitate code reviews * Performance tuning * Coordination of production installation of software
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree * Minimum five years’ experience working as a database developer/software engineer * Experience with formal software development methodologies, preferably Agile * Strong Oracle, PL/SQL (required) * Unix/KSH (recommended) * Informatica (or ETL equivalent preferred) * Job scheduling tool (preferred) * Problem solver * Understanding of relational database concepts * Team player, strong collaboration, communication skills * Exposure to continuous Integration tools (GIT, Liquibase, Jenkins)
