Summary
In your role as a Packaging Specialist, you’ll research, introduce and promote packaging improvements and implementations that make our packaging more efficient and effective. Although you’ll often work independently to influence our innovation and renovation processes, you’ll also interface with leadership and other cross-functional teams to problem solve, maximize value and ensure continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
* Research and develop optimum packaging to better meet our customer and consumers needs and wants * Provide recommendations on new types of packaging and sources to management teams * Develop and implement new packaging, and promotional/special pack packaging. This includes the development, set up, and communication of the packaging specifications, as well as finished product pallet specifications * Seek new packaging technologies and coordinate all required testing * Assist in formalizing, standardizing and documenting all existing packaging specifications * Constantly drive for less "total cost" packaging * Assist Purchasing Manager and Raw Material Buyer on all coordination of new and promotional packaging and materials * Perform all other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
**Education:** * Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or related Packaging discipline **Experience (Years/Type):** * To qualify as a Packaging Specialist I, you must have 2+ years of experience with secondary packaging * To qualify as a Packaging Specialist II, you must have 5+ years of experience with secondary packaging * All applicants must be willing and able to travel 30-40% of the time. Travel may include international destinations
