Summary
Nest is looking for an Audio Design Engineer to join our growing audio team. At Nest, you'll have the opportunity to shape the consumer electronic business, join a world class engineering team and help revolutionize the unloved devices in our homes. You will be responsible for designing audio systems for current and emerging Nest Labs product categories.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with other audio engineers to define and design world class audio subsystems * Develop robust architectures, select components and design audio systems across multiple product lines * Develop product and engineering requirements, and ensure that the audio systems are tested and validated to those requirements * Lead a small audio team on a per project basis to deliver great audio performance to the end users * Contribute to the general quality of Nest Labs audio products by advocating for audio
Ideal Candidate
* BS/MS engineering or equivalent practical experience, ideally in audio or acoustics * 4+ years experience in acoustical and audio electronics measurements **Preferred qualifications:** * A passion for audio * 2-4 years audio and acoustic design including electronics, transducers and advanced audio technologies * Experience with design of both speaker and microphone subsystems * In-depth knowledge on transducer design and development * Familiarity and understanding of DSP and algorithms as they relate to advanced audio technologies * Critical listening (musical training a plus) * Ability to travel internationally up to 20%
